How to clean your blinds?
It’s inevitable over time that your blinds will need a little clean. We’ve put together some tips on how you can take care of your blinds.
You can dust most blinds regularly with a soft cloth on both sides to get rid of any dust build up. For Venetian blinds, a duster with a handle is convenient to get in between those awkward slats.
For blinds which require a better clean to remove stains etc, Roller, Vertical and Pleated blinds can usually be sponge cleaned. Please check the fabric properties with your retailer to be sure your blind is suitable for this method.
Soft fabrics such as Romans and Curtains tend to be dry clean only as water and damp could damage the blind. Please check the fabric properties with your retailer and clean as appropriate.
Best options for light control
For precise light control try our Mirage roller blinds, ideal for allowing light in but also giving an element of privacy with their significant flexibility. Our Mirage collection is available in over 40 fabrics, including plains and textures in a variety of colours.
Why not incorporate a sheer fabric onto your blinds, which softens the light coming through whilst still offering privacy. We offer sheers in a multitude of fabrics and colours available in both Pleated and Roller.
By contrast, Blackout blinds offer complete light control to ensure a good night’s sleep, keeping the room dark and comfortable. Banlight Duo FR is Eclipse’s most popular fabric for roller and vertical blinds, with 42 colour options available, that have a colour co-ordinating backing and are moisture resistant and fire retardant.
Looking for something extra?
Asc stands for Advanced Solar Control and is available on some of our Pleated, Roller and Vertical blinds. If your house faces the right direction for blindingly bright sunshine, then a solar controlled blind could be exactly what you require. The back of the blind has a special surface which has been developed to reflect sunlight helping you to control light levels and temperature entering the room.
FR – Avoiding fire hazards are important, particularly with the growth in popularity of candles and incense. We have developed a special fire retardant coating to give you peace of mind. Our Palette range offers these properties, coming in over 65 shades perfect for a roller or vertical blind. We also offer Banlight, Bioflex, Urban, Stella and Reflection as fire retardant fabrics.
Blackout blinds are a very effective way of eliminating unwanted external light. Light pollution is a recognised problem, particularly in populated areas, and can be deemed responsible for disturbed sleep. Banlight Duo FR is Eclipse’s most popular fabric for roller and vertical blinds, with 42 colour options available, that have a colour co-ordinating backing and are moisture resistant and fire retardant.

Child Safety has always been a key consideration in the home. The legislation now in place makes it a much more prominent point to take into account when purchasing new window blinds.
In line with the new legislation, Style Studio has tested all relevant products to ensure we are completely compliant with the Child Safety Requirements of BS EN13120. As well as striving to develop as many Child Safe systems as we can, we also endeavour to offer a stylish and functional range of Child Safety accessories across all product types.
Why has this legislation been introduced?
Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that operate the product. To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the reach of young children. Cords may become wrapped around a child’s neck. This new legislation has been introduced to ensure that all window blinds are supplied to a set standard.
Your stockist has been fully briefed on this new legislation to ensure that any blinds supplied will be compliant with the specifications and reduce any potential future risks. By following a few simple steps your blinds can be completely child safe, giving you complete peace of mind.
Child Safe Checklist
- Make sure all cords and chains are always secured out of reach.
- Position furniture such as sofas, cots, tables away from windows to prevent children climbing too close to them.
- Make sure inner or rear cords are also fitted with safety devices.
- For more information on the full range of Child Safe devices or products, ask your retailer.
